Liberate the power and capacity of your website by taking control.

Flightdec puts your visitors first

Flightdec was founded by FRESCO in 2010 based on a simple idea – put the website visitor first, even ahead of technology, and build highly capable sites that are easy to manage. This allows you to have a dynamic website, together with time and money saving efficiency.

We didn’t simply stop at the easy self management of one-off websites. Flightdec also builds powerful online communities for member organisations and communities. Take a look at Flightdec Communities.

While the Flightdec brand is new, FRESCO has been developing the technology for many years and has built many websites using its capabilities - see our Gallery pages here.

The directors of FRESCO are Fraser Carson and Sheridan Bruce. FRESCO owns Flightdec.

Flightdec uses a modular structure and incorporates an independent web based Javascript platform from TinyMCE.

Addressing the issue head on

A successful website is active and never dull. It constantly builds connections between visitors and the site's up-to-date content, pulling them into serial relationships.

To keep pace with visitor expectations, the most important attribute your website can have is your committed effort and efficient self-management.

So now the pressure is on to deliver better content and tools that are fast and accurate. This in turn throws the spotlight on usability for the visitor and on the ability of the site administrator to deliver dynamic content within a highly capable website.

However, websites that deliver high levels of technical capability are generally equally complex and therefore be difficult to learn and operate. This can be the problem with many open source content management systems (CMS) where the website uses only a small part of the total platform with a result that there is generally more complexity built in than is ever required for any one website. We see it as redundant complexity.

Flightdec solves the problem

Flightdec delivers an advanced usability system using a simple template structure. Websites are purpose-built from modules incorporating TinyMCE so that the whole site operates for your benefit, rather than just a small part, with the result of little redundant complexity. Tools can simply be added or subtracted, often directly by the website administrator, with the result that sites are efficient in every respect.

The best way to think of it is with the example of a high performance car. The basic usability (steering wheel, brake, gear stick) is simple and can be learnt quickly because the controls are already familiar. But at the same time, the extended capabilities don't unduly create usability difficulties.

The goal of Flightdec remains straightforward; provide the best possible website performance based on the particular requirements of the organisation and make sure that self management remains as easy as possible.

While others seem to be making websites more and more complicated, Flightdec is on a journey in the other direction – to provide the simplest way to help organisations use the full power and speed of the internet through control.
